Paul Haupt was a noted philologist and a professor of Semitic languages at The Johns Hopkins University. He was born at Gorlitz, Germany, Nov. 25, 1858 and received the Ph. Samuel Mast graduated from Michigan State Normal College and received a B.S. degree from the University of Michigan in 1899. In 1906 he earned a Ph. D. from Harvard University.
